these four chords will let you play hundreds of songs

So you wanna play guitar, but don't have money or time for lessons. Here is the easiest way to make people think you know how to play, when in reality you only know 4 chords that literally open up hundreds of songs for you to play. These four chords are the major chords in the key of G. Any song can be played in G, so once you know these 4 chords the possibilities are endless.

Here are the Chords G, C, D, and Em. The pictures show you how the fingering is laid out. When I was first learning to play for our church, these four chords gave me the opportunity to play many songs with our church musicians within just a few months of teaching myself how to play.

On the pictures 1 is your index finger, 2 is your middle finger, 3 is your ring finger, and 4 is your pinky. The right side of the image is the bottom of the guitar neck. The Horizontal lines are frets. The Vertical lines are theĀ strings. X means the string should not be strummed, O means it should be strummed open (with no finger holding it down.)
